Christmas City of the North Parade

We just got back from a great weekend with my parents. They took us to the Christmas City of the North Parade on Friday night. The windows of the downtown shops were immaculately decorated and crowds of people lined the sidewalks. Daniel was wide-eyed the whole time. He could hardly contain his excitement when he heard drums from the marching bands approach, but he was mostly speechless as he took in the procession of lights, floats, dancers, musicians, and costumed creatures. He lasted for about an hour and a half, then informed us that he was cold. So we booked it 5 blocks up-hill to our parking spot (I thought I was going to go into labor!) and went home to sip cider. The next morning, we asked Daniel what he thought about the parade and all he said was, "Parade...brrr..."

A sign we spotted along the side-walk: "God is angry with the wicked everyday" (which will make for a great discussion starter in our Sunday school class on evangelism).

Daniel called Gma a "puppy" when she wore this hat. Love it!
We spent the rest of the weekend lounging and playing at Gpa and Gma's. What a blessing to have a couple days of rest.
