Dad's 50th Bash

Last week, we were able to spend a few days with my side of the family to celebrate Dad's 50th birthday! Last time we all were together was during Christmas. What a great excuse to get together. We had a blast eating lots of good food, visiting, and doing some fun outings around the Duluth area.

We had a gorgeous birthday picnic by the swaying bridge at Jay Cooke State Park.

The park has some gorgeous hiking trails.

Daniel was pooped after a vigorous hike...Matt too.

Playin' with Gma Connie in the river.

This is where a lovely leech attached himself to Daniel's leg. We had to pry the thing off his leg and ask for a couple band-aids from the ranger's station. Ah!

Anna posing so ladylike on a distant log....sigh.

Dad and my buff, bronzed brother, Josh (That's what happens when you're a pool boy for the summer).

Hanging out with Gpa Lee.

Lake Superior was gorgeous along Park Point. Everyone else said the water was freezing, but Daniel and I braved it.

Gpa and Gma Hale came to catch the rays with us.

After walking Daniel up and down the beach, Dad was finally able to lull him to sleep.

Nothing better than a snooze on the beach.
